Built on Experience. Driven by People.

Since 1979, Here’s Help Staffing & Recruiting has built its reputation on strong relationships, trusted partnerships, and a genuine commitment to helping people and businesses succeed.

In 2023, the company entered its next chapter when Cathy Parlapiano became sole owner. With decades of experience in human resources, recruiting, and workforce solutions, Cathy leads Here’s Help with a focus on strengthening client partnerships, creating opportunities for job seekers, supporting the local community, and continuing to grow the firm throughout the Hudson Valley and beyond.

Cathy’s leadership is part of a legacy that spans generations. In 2008, founder Diana Kornish entrusted the business she built to Cathy and Kathy Carroll, recognizing their leadership potential and shared commitment to the people-first values at the heart of Here’s Help. Together, Cathy and Kathy led the firm for more than a decade together, expanding its services, growing its team, and strengthening its presence in the region before Kathy’s retirement.

Today, Cathy and the Here’s Help team continue to build on that foundation, combining nearly five decades of experience with a forward-looking approach to recruiting and staffing. While the workforce has changed considerably since 1979, the philosophy behind Here’s Help remains the same: relationships matter, people come first, and the right connection can make all the difference.

Cathy has been part of Here’s Help for 25 years, including 18 years as a business owner and the past three as sole owner of the company. Throughout her career, she has remained passionate about connecting people with opportunities and bringing together individuals, businesses, and resources throughout the community. Outside of work, family is everything, and Cathy is happiest surrounded by good people, good conversation, and plenty of laughter. Around the office, she’s known for always finding a reason to Celebrate Everything (big or small) and encouraging the office caffeine addiction with a daily Dunkin’ run.

Nicole Petrakis

Nicole’s history with Here’s Help goes back more than two decades, first joining the team from 2002 to 2007 before returning in 2021. With 10 years of staffing and recruiting experience, she specializes in administrative, accounting, finance, banking, and human resources positions. Nicole loves the hunt for great talent and the opportunity to make connections that can genuinely impact someone’s life. Her approach is laid-back, personal, and all-in. Whether working with a client or candidate, she takes the time to understand the people involved and considers how each career decision fits into the bigger picture of their lives.

Nicole is an active member of the Orange-Ulster BOCES CTE Advisory Board, involved with the Goshen Chamber of Commerce, and spearheads Here’s Help’s Youth Initiative Program, helping prepare local students for their next steps after high school. Outside of work, she’s a longtime heavy metal (specifically Metallica) and live music fan, loves Supercross and spending her weekends on the back of a Harley, and can often be seen walking down the Las Vegas strip or at The Sphere (but never gambling). She is a proud mom of two children who have taken two very different career paths, her blue-collar son working for the family business and daughter in her second year of a Master’s accounting program. Around the office, she’s known for being organized, staying on top of everything, and throwing away anything left unattended for too long.

Stefanie Bonfanti

LinkedIn     |     Contact Stefanie

Stefanie has been with Here’s Help since 2013 (2012 if you count her time as a temp employee), building her recruiting career around connecting people with opportunities across administrative, accounting, human resources, nonprofit, light industrial, and skilled trades positions. Her favorite part of recruiting is delivering the good news, whether it’s offering a candidate an exciting new opportunity or hearing from a client that she found their perfect match. Stefanie describes her approach as unconventional but professional, focusing on finding common ground, building genuine relationships, and getting to know the person behind the resume. She can talk to anyone about anything, especially all the local eateries and breweries as a self-proclaimed foodie.

Community involvement has always been important to Stefanie. She is involved with the Sullivan County Chamber of Commerce and Port Jervis Elks and has previously supported the Town of Wallkill Boys & Girls Club and Business & Professional Women’s Club of Port Jervis. Outside of work, she’s a live music enthusiast who considers Bethel Woods her Disney World, and is continuing the legacy through her daughter, showing her what it’s like to be a local music groupie. Around the office, she’s known for humming through the halls, somehow being able to eat half of a half of a snack, and being the all-knowing office detective.

Christian Marshall

LinkedIn     |     Contact Christian

Christian has been part of the Here’s Help team since 2017 and brings more than a decade of staffing and recruiting experience to his role. Specializing in engineering, IT, industrial, and skilled trades positions, he enjoys the matchmaking side of recruiting, finding the opportunity where both the candidate and client know they’ve found the right fit. Christian takes a personal approach to recruiting, making an effort to understand candidates as people, not just employees, while working closely with clients to understand their needs and offer creative, outside-the-box solutions.

Outside of the office, Christian is involved with Think Pink Rocks, the Middletown YMCA, Middletown Run Club, and the Council of Industry. He’s an avid sports fan (Knicks in 5), runner and marathon trainer, traveler (mostly to Puerto Rico), and proud dog dad to Dino who keeps him on his toes. Around the office, he’s equally well known for finding the snacks, keeping everything anyone has ever gotten him in his desk, and always being ready with a funny sarcastic comment after not saying a peep for hours on end.

Gabriela Garcia

LinkedIn     |     Contact Gabriela

Gabriela joined the Here’s Help team in 2025 as Talent and Client Support Specialist before moving up to Business Operations Lead in 2026,bringing a background in sales, marketing, and social media to the staffing and recruiting industry. Her role touches nearly every part of the business outside of recruiting, from being a first point of contact for candidates and supporting clients to managing marketing, social media, and day-to-day operations. Gabriela enjoys being the person her coworkers can turn to for support, taking care of the details behind the scenes so the recruiting team can focus on what they do best. She’s always looking for ways to learn, improve processes, and make things run a little more smoothly.

When working with candidates and clients, Gabriela takes an empathetic approach. She believes sometimes people simply need someone willing to listen, and while Here’s Help may not be able to help everyone, she wants it to be a resource whenever possible. Outside of work, Gabriela loves traveling (although not the flying part), true crime and all things spooky, and is slightly obsessed with her dachshund, Slinky. Around the office, she’s known for keeping the snacks stocked, bringing the laughs as the self-proclaimed “personality hire,” and frequently forgetting that shoes are part of the office dress code.
